August 11, 2016 – A mid-term resignation created a vacancy in the Oklahoma County Court Clerk’s position.

The short-term incumbent in this post is a dutiful and serious person.

However, The City Sentinel newspaper believes Linda Amick Dodson is better qualified and more suited to this particular job.

She has 20 years of cumulative experience in the court clerk’s office.

Linda Amick Dodson is truly “one of us.” A native of Oklahoma County, she sang in the beloved ‘Cry-Slurs’ at Northwest Classen High School as a young woman. She has been a leader for the Boy Scouts (and both of her sons are Eagles, an amazing achievement).

For those who might wonder about that middle name – yes, she is the daughter of Judge John and Jean Amick.

The winner of this runoff will face a well-respected Democrat in the November election.

The GOP should put its best candidate on the ballot. In doing so, they would perform a bipartisan service to good government and excellence in public office.

On August 23, Republican voters in Oklahoma County are strongly encouraged to nominate Linda Amick Dodson.
