On News9, the CBS affiliate in Oklahoma City, Patrick B. McGuigan sang the praises of Positive Tomorrows, the Sooner State’s only school serving exclusively homeless children.

He pointed to the close ties players with the Oklahoma City Thunder – including Kevin Durant and Enes Kantor – have formed with director Susan Agel and the school’s leadership.

In other education news, the CapitolBeatOK editor applauded the work of Jennifer Burris, a teacher at Harding Fine Arts Academy, whom the DaVinci Institute has named A+ Schools Teacher of the Year for 2016.

The award honors her work intergrating the arts into classroom instruction in mathematics. Burris will be honored at the Oklahoma History Center during a banquet on April 1.
