Cody Rains, a contemporary artist based in Oklahoma City, will be a featured artist for the Friday (January 1) “First Friday” gallery walk in the historic Paseo Arts District.

An exhibit of Cody’s art called “(E)Motions of the West” will be highlighted at the Paseo Art Space (address) during the monthly gallery walk, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Paseo Art Space is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 12 – 5 p.m. More information about the gallery is available at or call 405.525.2688.

Cody is a contemporary artist living and working in Oklahoma City. His current area of study is in large-scale portrait and figurative paintings. To create his works, Cody utilizes a mixture of oil, acrylic, and spray paint.

Cody’s work aims to capture a specific human expression or emotion in a way that speaks to the viewer. His work marries elements of realism with elements of abstraction by way of calculated, correct mark making paired with loose, abstract mark making.

Organizers of the gallery walk promise local and national artists, and great shopping opportunities at the monthly celebration in the district.
