CapitolBeatOK Staff Report

Patrick B. McGuigan, editor of CapitolBeatOK, has encouraged Gov. Mary Fallin to grant legal advocates for Richard E. Glossip a 60-day stay of execution. McGuigan renewed his support for the idea after reading a lengthy analysis of conflicting evidence in the case.

He told News9 reporter Alex Cameron that attorney Don Knight of Colorado, a specialist in capital punishment cases, makes a strong case that testimony against Glossip was weak in both of his murder-for-hire trials.  Watch the video here.

In other news, McGuigan and Cameron discussed a “Smart City” award that Verizon Regional President Kristi Crum presented to Oklahoma City Mayor Mick Cornett, recognizing innovations in use of GPS and WiFi to improve services.
