OKLAHOMA CITY – Blogger Misti Pryor along with Julie Bohannon and blogger Heather Davis say that “Listen To Your Mother Show, LLC (LTYM)” will soon debut in the city area. The Mother’s Day series of live readings will be held in twenty-four cities this year, twice the number produced in 2012.

LTYM features live readings by local writers on “the beauty, the beast, and the barely-rested of motherhood, in celebration of Mother’s Day,” according to organizers. Born of the creative writings of both women and men, each production is directed, produced, and performed by local communities, for local communities, with 10 percent of ticket proceeds benefitting a local non-profit cause. Beginning with one show in Madison, Wisconsin in 2010, five different cities hosted LTYM shows in 2011, then ten in 2012.

Oklahoma City’s performance will be Sunday, May 5, 2 p.m., at Will Rogers Theater on North Western. Performances will be filmed and shared on LTYM’s YouTube channel after all shows have been produced. Tickets will be available soon via Ticketstorm.com. Information about ticket sales will be shared via the Listen To Your Mother/Oklahoma City webpage. (http://www.listentoyourmothershow.com/oklahomacity/)

The show will feature twelve to fourteen local writers who have something say about motherhood. Pryor and Davis were cast in the Northwest Arkansas Listen To Your Mother Show in 2011. LTYM will showcase the thoughts and writings of local writers.

The Oklahoma City producers have partnered with Infant Crisis Services of Oklahoma City as their charitable cause. “Infant Crisis Services fits perfectly with the LTYM mission,” Pryor explains, “I recently spent some time at Infant Crisis Services and really can’t imagine a better beneficiary for our Oklahoma City show.”

In a release sent to The City Sentinel, Miki Farris, executive director of Infant Crisis Services, said, “We are thrilled to partner with Listen to Your Mother as their charity of choice. Thank you on behalf of thousands of needy babies and toddlers in the Oklahoma City metro community who will benefit from your generosity.” Interested sponsors can contact the local producers at OKC.ListenToYourMother@gmail.com.

Pryor blogs at www.MistiRidiculous.com. Davis, who will have her first book—TMI Mom: Oversharing My Life, a collection of humorous essays—released this spring, blogs at www.Minivan-Momma.com.
