Navigating downtown Oklahoma City’s construction detours

The City of Oklahoma City has released its traffic advisory for February 28-March 4. Changes to last week’s advisory are noted in red.

 

New traffic pattern at intersection of Hudson and Reno*

Motorists should be advised that a slight adjustment to traffic flow will occur at the intersection of Hudson and Reno so that streetscape crews can construct the Northwest quadrant of this intersection in time for the Festival of the Arts.

 

Dean McGee from Hudson to Harvey closed to westbound traffic*

Dean McGee from Hudson to Harvey will close to westbound traffic until mid-March to allow streetscape crews to install a 14’ sanitary sewer line.  One lane for eastbound traffic will remain.

 

California Avenue closed from Dewey to Walker*

California Avenue from Dewey to Walker will be closed through March 2011 so crews can expedite streetscape work in time for the Festival of the Arts.  Detour signs will be in place.

 

SW 2nd from Harvey to Robinson closed (I-40 W on-ramp)*

SW 2nd from Harvey to Robinson will close temporarily so utility work can be completed.  Motorists trying to access I-40 W will be detoured to Hudson.

Robinson & Reno intersection closed until March*

Streetscape construction at Robinson Avenue and Reno Avenue has closed this intersection through March 2011.

 

Sheridan from Shartel to Walker reduced to two lanes*

Sheridan from Shartel to N. Walker is reduced to one lane in each direction so crews can complete streetscape construction along the south half of the street.  Access to the Sheridan/Walker parking garage will remain open.

Walker from Reno to W. Main reduced to two lanes*

N. Walker from Reno to W. Main is reduced to two northbound lanes so crews can complete streetscape construction.

 

Harvey from NW 4th to Dean McGee reduced to two lanes*

N. Harvey from NW 4th to Dean A. McGee is reduced to two northbound lanes so crews can complete streetscape construction.

 

Robinson from SW 2nd to SW 3rd reduced to one lane

Southbound Robinson from SW 2nd to SW 3rd is reduced to one lane for utility relocations. I-40 access will remain open.

 

Robinson from Robert S. Kerr to NW 6th converted to allow 2-way travel*

N Robinson from Robert S. Kerr to NW 6th has been converted to allow 2-way travel while N Harvey is closed to thru traffic for streetscape construction.  Private downtown renovations are also being completed in the area.

 

Hudson from Main to Reno reduced to two lanes

Southbound Hudson Avenue between Main and Reno is reduced to two lanes while renovations to the Myriad Gardens are completed.  Private downtown renovations are also being completed in the area.

Reno from Dewey to Hudson reduced to two lanes*

Reno from Dewey to Hudson is reduced to one lane in each direction so crews can complete streetscape construction.

Reno from EK Gaylord to Hudson closed through March 2011*

Reno from EK Gaylord to Hudson is closed while crews complete streetscape construction. Motorists exiting downtown via I-40 are detoured to an alternate route.

 

Robinson from Sheridan to Reno closed southbound until spring 2011*

Southbound Robinson Avenue between Sheridan and Reno is closed so crews can continue renovation on the Myriad Botanical Gardens.  A counter flow lane has been constructed along Robinson between Main and Park to allow 2-way traffic.

 

Sheridan between Hudson and Robinson closed until spring 2011

Sheridan Avenue between Robinson Avenue and Hudson Avenue remains closed for renovation on the Myriad Botanical Gardens and private downtown renovations.

 

Film District improvements

The following closures are part of ongoing street improvements in the Film District.

-Dewey closed Main to California

All project timelines are contingent upon the weather.*Denotes Project180-related construction.
