OKLAHOMA CITY, February 2, 2011– Will Rogers World Airport has re-opened the airport with a single runway operation.  Battling frigid temperatures, high winds and equipment challenges, crews worked continuously throughout the day Tuesday to re-open the airfield.

Along with the runway opening, key taxiways have also been cleared, facilitating access to the terminal building and other vital areas of the airport.  Crews will continue to work throughout the night to maintain the surfaces in operational condition.

The airport was closed for nearly 20 hours.

Due to previous cancellations by the airlines, no commercial flights are scheduled to arrive tonight or between 5:00am and 7:00am tomorrow morning.  The first commercial arrival is expected around 8:00 am, with the first departure mid-to-late morning.

The airport continues to advise travelers to check with the airline for the status of their flight since many other airports have been impacted by this storm.  To change a reservation, travelers need to contact the airline’s reservations number or check the website.
