Suicide is the second leading cause of death among Oklahoma youth between the ages of 10-24. Additionally, suicide among the elderly is a very serious problem and in the last decade, Oklahoma has ranked in the top 15 states for suicide related deaths.

The American Gem Society (AGS) recently honored the Clark family of BC Clark Jewelers with the prestigious Triple Zero Award in recognition of its long-standing accomplishments and contributions to the jewelry industry. The Clark family, Rolex CEO Allen Brill and Phyllis Bergman of Mercury Ring Corporation each received 2010 Triple Zero Awards.

Demand for the treatment of problem and pathological gambling in Oklahoma has increased 50% over the past year. This may not be a surprise to some since Oklahoma holds more gambling casinos per capita than any other state in the country. Oklahoma is home to 80 casinos; which is more than England, France, Germany and Central America.

MidTown’s Frank Bruno retires from the business he founded in 1951

Bruno’s is going out of business but his children may elect to open another furniture store there themselves. Since Bruno owns the strip mall, it could also be sold or leased to another user. Frank Bruno is retiring from his landmark, Midtown furniture store at 3704 N Western after 59 years of serving the public, he said.The store is having a going out of business liquidation sale. However, Bruno was coy about whether any or all of his children, Mark, Tony and Gina Bruno-Dunn would reopen operations.
