Soak Up the Arts in Summer's Final Days
Soon the kids will trade their beach towels for book bags and we'll all say farewell to the final days of summer. But before we get back to the grind of the school year, there is still time to soak up some summer arts activities. While our arts community is always busy, I'd like to highlight a few "can't miss" events:
Little Theatre, Big Heart: Poteet’s “High School Musical” is Boffo!

"High School Musical," now at the Poteet Theatre, is first-rate entertainment, as enjoyable a two hours and 15 minutes as you can find for $18. Confession: I've never seen the Disney film version, with song credits to 13 writers, and a story by David Simpatico based on Peter Barsocchini's original script. So, no comparisons here, just a review.
Flood waters relocate six arts organizations
The show must go on! Never has that sentiment been more appropriate in Oklahoma City.
Lyric’s “Pump Boys and Dinettes” enjoyable trip back to 1950s
“Pump Boys and Dinettes” last Wednesday night at the Civic Center, was a very good and enjoyable performance of a very light show. The original show was first performed on Broadway in 1982, and was written by the original cast of John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann.
