OKC Auto Show to showcase latest vehicles for 2011

The annual OKC auto show begins today and continues through Sunday, March 7, State Fairgrounds officials said.

This year’s event will include the Oklahoma debut of the 2010 Jaguar XJ, the 2011 Kia Sorento, 2011 Mazda 2, the 2011 Toyota Sienna, the Chevy Synergy Green Camaro, the 2011 Buick Regal CXK Turbo and the 2011 Hyndai Sonata.

The event will be held in the fairgrounds Centenniel Building, the Cox Pavilion and the Travel & Transportation Building at the State Fairgrounds,

Organizers said beer, wine and fair concessions will be available for attendees plus live music.

On the show’s first day, there will be a “Sweet Ride” public preview, $5 admission and complimentary car-shaped cakes from Ruth’s Sweete Justice.

On Friday, March 5 from the show will offer $4 admission for seniors and military and the GM Experience, the Drive, Ride, where attendees can drive the Chevrolet Camaro, Traverse, Equinox, Malibu, Tahoe Hybrid, Silverado Hybrid a Buick LaCrosse, Enclave and a GMC Terrain.

On Saturday, the show will offer the GM Drive, Ride experience and kids will receive Hot Wheels toy cars. Special appearances will be made by KFOR’s 4Warn Storm Team and Jim Gardner and the 2 Movie Guys.

On Sunday, the GM driving experience will be offered, as well as Hot Wheels toy cars for kids.

Special Auto Exhibits will include a pre-owned vehicle showcase and a specialty and alternative showcase, featuring Can-Am Spyder motorcycles, Boss Hoss motorcycles, GEM electric vehicles, Wheego electric vehicles; Handicap aids vehicles

Texas Motor Speedway’s Nascar Sprint Cup Stock Car and Xbox “War Wagon” Gaming Unit.

Show times are 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to to 9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. Admission is $5 the first day of the show, then $10 per person thereafter. However, buy one get one free admission tickets are available on the show’s web site, www.okcautoshow.org
