Jay Miller has had an amazing career. Big 12 Coach of the Year, two-time Midwest Region Coach of the year, and two-time Big Eight Coach of the year, but the crowning achievement for the former Oklahoma City University softball coach came just recentlywhen he coached the U.S. team to their second consecutive World Cup of Softball title, outscoring Japan 5-1.

Local river first in nation to host Canoe Marathon World Championships

The Oklahoma River will host the 2014 Canoe Marathon World Championships, the International Canoe Federation (IFC) announced, which will make it the first to be held in the U.S. and the first world championship of any kind to be held on the Oklahoma River.

Edmonton Oilers move American Hockey League franchise to Oklahoma City

Prodigal Hockey LLC, said American Hockey League Board of Governors has approved the relocation of the Edmonton Oilers’ inactive AHL franchise from Edmonton, Alta. to Oklahoma City for the 2010-11 hockey season, organizers said.
