Ceremony, reception, music honors 30th Anniversary of “sister state” links

The 30th anniversary of the "sister state" relationship between Taiwan and Oklahoma will be recognized this week. Oklahoma Governor Brad Henry will meet with the Governor of the Province of Taiwan, Lin Jung-tzer, as part of the recognition, to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the ties between the State of Oklahoma and the Province of Taiwan.

OKC Philharmonic lights up Bricktown for Fourth of July celebrations

Despite the threat of storms, an impressive crowd congregated in Bricktown for the Philharmonics’ Red, White, & Boom! concert performed east of the Bricktown Ballpark. Thousands filled the parking area and many thousands more enjoyed the show in the surrounding Bricktown area.

What a better way to say “thanks for your support” than the entertainment that the OKC Philharmonic has planned? On Saturday, July 3, the ‘Phil’ will give back to the community by presenting a free concert in Bricktown. It is also great entertainment and a means to reach out to those who may not normally be able to attend a regular season concert.
