OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – The 19th annual Mayors’ Golf Tournament, sponsored by OKC Beautiful, will be held on Monday, June 4 at Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club, 7000 NW Grand Boulevard.  Lunch and registration will begin at 11 a.m. with a Shotgun Start at 1 p.m.

The tournament is a three-flight scramble with awards given to the top three teams from each flight.

The popular Helicopter Golf Ball Drop will take place before the start of the tournament.  Golf balls are $10 each. The balls nearest the hole will win cash and prizes.

Golf Hold ’Em score cards are $40. Each card is worth two mulligans, an opportunity to play the scratch off to win a vacation, and entrance into a drawing to attempt a $100,000 shoot out.

A hole-in-one will receive $50,000 and a matching $50,000 is donated to OKC Beautiful. Closest to the pin during the shoot out will receive a vacation.

The reception, emceed by Mayor David Holt, will begin immediately following the tournament.

“The purpose of the tournament is to raise funds for OKC Beautiful programs including OKC Harvest, Adopt-A-Park, LandScapes, LitterBlitz, the Teen Board, and Mother Earth,” said Lisa Synar, OKC Beautiful executive director.

“All of these programs serve to improve our community’s image and appearance and instill those passions in our youth,” Synar added. “Through your support as a player or sponsor we will be able to advance the impact of these programs in our community.”

OKC Harvest is a schoolyard and neighborhood gardening initiative that provides opportunities to plan, grow, maintain and harvest fruits and vegetables using sustainable and environmentally sound gardening practices.

Adopt-A-Park is a citywide program that enables volunteer groups to adopt a park, median or greenbelt to maintain. Volunteers can choose to pick up litter, mow, or make city-approved landscape improvements on a year-round basis. Each group is recognized with a sign acknowledging its efforts in its park or median.

The LandScapes program allows businesses and corporations to sponsor a public LandScapes project. For a specified donation and a 5-year maintenance agreement, a portion of public spaces will be landscaped and maintained on a yearly basis. OKC Beautiful helps the business choose a site, which is pre-approved by the City of Oklahoma City. Once a site is selected, OKC Beautiful oversees the project, from design to installation of plant materials and if needed, maintenance supervision.

The OKC Beautiful LitterBlitz program is a partnership between OKC Beautiful, the City of Oklahoma City and the Great American Clean-Up. In April of 2018 more than 10,000 Oklahoma City residents worked together to help pick up litter throughout the metro area, removing more than 181,000 pounds of trash off Oklahoma City’s streets. https://www.okcbeautiful.com/programs/

The OKC Beautiful Teen Board provides an opportunity for high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors to connect with the community and their environment. Teen Board students work together to aid OKC Beautiful to make their city a better place to live, while developing the skills and behavior required of good leaders.

Mother Earth is a youth environmental education program designed to teach elementary school children respect and care for the earth.

Early tournament registration is recommended, as the number of teams is limited and only those who register early are guaranteed a shirt.

“Corporate and team sponsorships are available to support this fantastic fundraiser and community event,” Synar said.  “Your financial participation will give you the opportunity to enjoy a day of golf at a prestigious facility while helping OKC Beautiful continue to educate and create beautiful spaces for our community.”

Single Player tickets are $300, which include a cart, green fees, a Polo shirt, tee gift, lunch, and the reception.  Corporate Team registration of $1,200 includes a team of four players, cart, green fees, Polo shirt for each player, tee gifts, lunch, and recognition at the reception.

Tee Sponsorships are $400. Team & Tee Sponsorships are $1,500. Tournament sponsorships range from $2,500 to $15,000.

Registration for the Mayors’ Golf Tournament is available online or by contacting Lisa Synar at 405-525-8822 or lisabsynar@okcbeautiful.com.
