OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Celebrate America’s most famous race. The 144th Kentucky Derby will air via simulcast from Churchill Downs in Louisville, Kentucky on May 5 at Remington Park approximately 5:35 p.m. The race will be streamed on Remington Park’s Coors Light Super Screen.

Prior to the Derby, guests canl enjoy Remington Park’s live American Quarter Horse racing beginning at noon.

In addition to racing, food and festivities, Remington Park will conduct the annual Derby Day Hat & Bowtie Style Contest on the Clubhouse level from 2-4 p.m.

“The Hat & Bowtie Contest has become a time-honored tradition each May, and past contests have attracted more than 200 well-dressed participants,” said Kelsie Stelting, PR executive, Koch Communications.

In the hat competition, ladies compete for the title of Best Overall and the $500 prize that comes with it. They also compete for $150 top prizes for Best Ensemble, Best Historical Period, Most Creative and Most Elegant.

Men will compete for the $150 top prize in Best Tie. A Best Couple is also selected.

Prizes for first, second and third place will be awarded in most categories. In all, more than $3,000 in prize money will be handed out to contestants. Each contestant will also receive a complimentary photo.

There is no fee to enter Remington Park’s Kentucky Derby Hat & Bowtie Contest, but contestants must be 18 years or older to participate. 

Remington Park will open earlier than normal to accept the racing from Churchill Downs. Advance Wagering will be available on Friday, May 4 at Remington Park, to allow fans to bet the Kentucky Derby prior to the race on Saturday.

The schedule for Derby Day on Saturday, May 5 is:

9 a.m. –  Remington Park opens, Mutuel Lines Open, Players opens
9:30 a.m. – First simulcast race from Churchill Down
11 a.m. –  Service begins in Club 1 and Silks Restaurant
11 a.m. – Bricktown Brewery and Henry Hudson’s open
NOON – First Remington Park race
5:35 p.m. – Kentucky Derby simulcast from Churchill Downs

General Parking, Valet Parking and Admission are always free at Remington Park, which offers a Henry Hudson’s Pub & Grill on the Track level and Bricktown Brewery on the Casino level.

Remington Park is Oklahoma City’s only racetrack and casino. It is located at 1 Remington Place, at the junction of Interstates 35 and 44 – in the heart of the Oklahoma City Adventure District.
