Staff Report

Oklahoma City, OK —Back by popular demand, Oklahoma’s award winning professional theatre, CityRep, is opening a can of side-splitting comedy with the smash hit “Greater Tuna.” The play is by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard.

CityRep Founding Artistic Director Donald Jordan and CityRep co-founder Jonathan Beck Reed are back in this popular comedy, where these two dazzling comic actors play all the denizens of a small town in this laugh a minute, quick change, comic tour de force! Both Jordan and Reed have been recognized nationally for their performances in this and other plays in the TUNA series.

When CityRep first presented Greater Tuna six years ago, the sold-out run became the biggest hit in the troupe’s history. CityRep patrons and TUNA fans have begged, loudly and often, to bring the show back for an encore, “So as soon as the rights became available, CityRep leaders were happy to oblige,” a smilin Jordan said in a release sent to The City Sentinel. Directing this show is longtime CityRep Affiliated Artist Steve Emerson. (In order to be able to present “Tuna,” CityRep’s previously announced production of “Tick Tick … Boom!” has been postponed for a future season.)

This production will be in the Freede Little Theatre at The Civic Center Music Hall (201 N .Walker Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73102.) Greater Tuna is rated PG-13 due to adult situations and language.

Tickets are $8 for Students, Teachers and Military Personnel (with ID), $25 (groups of eight or more), $35 (matinees) and $40 (evening performances), and may be purchased by calling the Civic Center Box Office at (405) 297-2264 or online at www.cityrep.com.
