The Plaza District in Oklahoma City will host a New Year’s Eve party to ring in 2016. The evening will usher in a celebration of 16th Street in 2016. Festivities will take place in the Lyric Theatre parking lot, 1727 NW 16th Street, on Thursday, December 31 from 8 p.m. to midnight.

An After Party will follow at Empire Slice House, 1734 NW 16th Street, featuring DJ Ryan Drake.

Guests can enjoy live music from local bands including Porch Mice, Bowlsey, and Josh Sallee. The Spy/KOSU will join the district to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of their collaboration with Fowler Volkswagen and the VDub Sessions at ’16 on 16th.

“Attendees will be able to take advantage of the walkability of the area with restaurants and retail open late for the evening,” said Cayla Lewis, executive director of Plaza District Association.

Families are encouraged to come early and take part in the free family oriented programming from 6-8 p.m. This will include a s’mores station by KatieBug’s Hot Chocolate, games, and more.

“Don’t worry about the cold, we will have plenty of fire pits and heaters to keep you warm,” Lewis added. “With something to keep your toes tapping, your bellies full, and your heart happy, we hope that the Plaza District can be the only stop you have to make this New Year’s Eve.

“We’ll meet 2016 with confetti and a singalong with Porch Mice to ‘Auld Lang Syne,’” she said.

Located on NW 16th Street between Classen and Penn Avenue, the Plaza District is offering two ticket options for admission into the event.

Guests can enjoy the VIP Experience ticket which includes admission into the event space and the heated VIP tent, admission to the after party at Empire Slice House featuring DJ Ryan Drake, a custom ’16 on 16th champagne glass, a 2016 Keep it Local card, craft beer by Anthem Brewing Company and specialty cocktails by Prairie Wolf Vodka with Strong Tonic syrups, New Year’s Eve items, and more.

VIP tickets are priced at $60. Friends of the Plaza, the Plaza District’s patron membership program, will be offered a special ticket price of $50.

The second ticket option priced at $16 includes admission into the event, craft beer by Anthem Brewing Company, and complimentary New Year’s Eve items.
