The pubic is invited to the second annual Uptown 23rd District fundraiser, Uptown Uncorked, on Thursday, April 2, at the Oklahoma History Center, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive in Oklahoma City. VIP hour will take place from 6 – 7 p.m. and general admission is from 7 – 10 p.m.

Uptown Uncorked is a food and beverage-tasting event that will feature local restaurants and merchants promoting the continued revitalization of one of Oklahoma City’s busiest, upcoming corridors.

The Uptown 23rd District stretches from NW Broadway to Pennsylvania on NW 23rd Street and includes the historic and iconic Tower Theater.

VIP guests will be the first to enjoy food and a VIP selection of wine and beer tastings. They will also receive a swag bag of goodies from Uptown 23rd District businesses. VIP tickets are $65 each.  General admission tickets are $40 and include all access to food, wine and beer tastings. Sponsorships are also available.

“Last year we had a sold out event and this year we are planning a larger and even more exciting evening,” said Matt Ralls, President of the Uptown 23rd District.

The proceeds raised from the event will support the beautification of medians and public spaces along 23rd Street as well as Uptown 23rd events and programming efforts.  With the community’s involvement, these activities help to improve the appearance and livability of Oklahoma City’s urban core.

Uncorked patrons will be entertained by great music, participate in a silent auction and raffle, and will have the opportunity to connect with other Uptown 23rd friends and supporters.

A wide selection of cuisine will be offered by participating Uptown restaurants including Back Door Barbecue, Big Truck Tacos, Byron’s Liquor Warehouse, Cheever’s Café, Cuppies and Joe, Guernsey Park, Mutts Amazing Hot Dogs, Nourished Food Co., Pizza 23, Pizzeria Gusto, Raising Canes, Thai House, and Tucker’s Onion Burgers.

“With your support and patronage we will continue to revitalize this district through beautification efforts, more great restaurants and shops to visit, and block parties for you and your family to enjoy,” Rails said. “We are excited about our transformation and we hope you are too.”

This year’s Uptown Uncorked presenting sponsor is Heritage Hills Neighborhood Association. Additional 23rd District businesses sponsoring the event include Byron’s Liquor, Botbooth, Emerson Events, Keep It Local, Made In Oklahoma Coalition, Oklahoma History Center, Barefoot Wine, OKC Community Church, Quik Print, Sonic Drive-In, Carns Curtiss Law, Fitzsimmons Architects, Grandad’s Bar, Harrison Gypsum, Mesta Park, Sam Gresham Architects and Sterling Wine & Spirits.

“We hope that you will join us in the renaissance of the Uptown 23rd District, making it one of the city’s premier business, arts, and entertainment districts,” Rails added.
