staff report

Lizzie Curry, a rancher in the drought-stricken West during the Dust Bowl, is smart and capable, but just plain plain. She longs for love with the local sheriff, but her world changes when charismatic con man Bill Starbuck comes to town, posing as a rainmaker. The 1957 movie classic starred Katherine Hepburn and Burt Lancaster.

A reviewer notes: “In an era of pyrotechnics, 110 in the Shade presents a heartfelt story of hope and human nature and remains a genuine gem in the musical theatre canon.”
