Crews Work to Finish Myriad Garden Band Shell Before Festival of the Arts

Crews inside the Myriad Botanical Gardens are working day and night to prepare for the Garden’s April sneak peek during the 2011 Festival of the Arts, April 26-May 1.

Visitors will experience the new Grand Lawn and band shell,updated Meinders Garden, the Groves along Hudson, striking west lake renovations and many more dramatic and interactive landscaping elements. Pictured are crews placing finishing touches on the new 30-foot-high sculptural band shell located just north of the Crystal Bridge.

The 200 square-foot stage will host a variety of performances for audience gatherings across the 28,000 square-foot lawn. In the background is the new Devon Tower headquarters.
