On Monday, January 10, I will complete 20 years of service as Oklahoma’s State Superintendent of Public Instruction. I would like simply to thank The City Sentinel for publishing my column over the years. We sought to cover timely topics related to children and public schools, and to provide information of use to parents, grandparents, educators, local school board members and other citizens of our great state.

It is my hope that you will always keep education of Oklahoma boys and girls a top priority as we move forward into 2011 and beyond.
God bless!

Sandy Garrett, Superintendent of Public Instruction
1991-2011

PS: Read to a child, the benefits last a lifetime.
